Well, that’s creepy
I just checked my visitor logs, and apparently someone got to this blog by googling my email address. Well, that’s not the creepy part.
The creepy part is what when I google my email address, the top four results do not belong to me. I have no idea who the person is, but they’re listing my email address as their own. I’m going to assume it’s a simple mistake, a typo of some sort. And for the curious, “hoshi no neko” means something like “cat of the stars” in Japanese, therefore it’s not an unusual handle.
Only I have access to my account and have never seen any suspicious activity on it. Nevertheless, it’s slightly unnerving.
Business card / Dec ’11
A personal card I made for my father. He wanted only his name on it, intending to write information on the back of it, so he could customize the contact-info he gave each person and ensure it was all up-to-date. I rescaled the card to post it on here, so there are parts (like the bottom of the shield) that are overly anti-aliased and fuzzy-looking. It’s crisper in print.
The shield is made from scratch, the wyvern (dragon on top) from an old public-domain lineart. The elements are a collection of symbols from various family ancestors. The colors are too harsh on screen, but the printer was able to mute them down for print.
The beautiful wood pattern in the background is by Omar Alvarado.
“Hello world!” indeed
So I caved and made yet another blog on WordPress. I love this software far too much for my own good. But this one’s going to be different. This one’s going to be public. My photos, my graphics, my webdesign, my random works are scattered all over the internet, and when people ask for examples of what I do, I can only send them a disorganized list of links.
I’ll be importing my work here, trying to build up a humble portfolio, and maybe manage my online identity better. It’s about time I throw self-doubt away and recognize that while I’m far from the best, I’m also far from the worst. I endeavour to grow every day and never lose that self-criticism that pushes us forward, but if people are happy with what I do, then there’s no reason to hide what I’ve done.
